Pearla Pigao

(b.1984, Norway)
Oslo-based artist, musician, and craft practitioner working at the intersection of sound and textile. Drawing on her background in music and weaving, she creates digitally hand-woven textiles that translate sound structures into visual and tactile forms.

Her practice explores the shared principles of composition and pattern, often resulting in interactive installations that engage both sensory and spatial experience.

Pigao has exhibited nationally and internationally, and has received several awards, including the Sørlandet Art Museum Audience Award, the Norwegian Artisans’ Student Prize, and the Arts and Crafts Prize from the Fund for Art and Design Students.

Piago holds an MFA in Medium and Material-Based Art from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (2015–2017), where she also completed a BFA with a specialization in textile art (2012–2015).
She previously studied three-dimensional techniques at Einar Granum.
