Siri Pettersson

(b.1990, Sweden)
Visual artist whose practice is rooted in the controlled format of
hand weaving.
By weaving thousands of fine linen threads side by side, she translates the painterly ability to blend and shift colour into textile form, creating subtle gradients and transitions.
Through layered compositions, her works challenge the grid structure of weaving, forming a contrast to the geometric principles of the craft.

Pettersson is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
She is trained at Handarbetets Vänner School in Stockholm, Kawashima Textile School in Kyoto, and holds a journeyman’s certificate in hand weaving.
