Vincent Laine
(b.1989,Finland)
Finnish born Swedish designer based in Norway and founder of the multidisciplinary studio Laine.
His work moves between industrial design, furniture, and conceptual installations, guided by a belief that design can reveal glimpses
of a Far fetched near future.
Over the past decade Laine has designed influential products across industries. After independently creating a speculative Leica concept that caught the attention of the company, he became Leica’s first in house designer and went on to design the Leica Q and Q2, two cameras that helped define Leica’s contemporary product language.
He later served as Creative Director at Db, where he helped develop the award winning hard case luggage collection and guided the brand creatively during a period that culminated in investment from LVMH Luxury Ventures.
In 2025 Laine left full time employment to work independently, marking a shift toward a more personal and exploratory practice.
That same year he initiated project Immaterial, a sculptural bench developed with Vestre and Jacques Cartier Studio.
The work was presented during Paris Fashion Week and later installed at the Munch Museum in Oslo.
Alongside this, Laine developed the Incremental Chair, an independent work exhibited at Alcova Miami during Art Basel. The project further established his studio as a platform for experimental design.
Laine’s work explores the tension between material certainty and perceptual ambiguity. Steel, sound, and atmospheric forms are used to create objects that feel physically grounded yet perceptually unfamiliar. Each object aims to open a new window of optimism, framed within the idea of a Far fetched near future.
Recently Laine designed Unlikely Connection, an experimental sculptural seating piece developed in close collaboration with Vestre.
First launched in Milan Design week 26, then in a group exhibition at D142 in Oslo.
