Jennie Bringaker
(b.1978, Norway) works with sculpture, installation, and drawing, using materials such as ceramics, stone, and metal.
Her works often originate from personal experiences, while also drawing inspiration from prehistoric art, with references to totems, reliefs, and wall paintings.
A recurring theme in her practice is the representation of
the female body, explored through both an art historical
and political lens.
Through her choice of materials, forms, and techniques, Bringaker investigates how ideas of the feminine can be shaped, negotiated, and challenged.
Bringaker studied scenography at the Academy of Performing Arts at Østfold University College and holds a Master’s degree in Art from New York University.
