ELISABETH VON KROGH
(b.1947, NORWAY)

Von Krogh is a Norwegian ceramic artist whose practice explores the relationship between vessel, sculpture, form, and colour. Working primarily with red terracotta clay, she creates bold, sculptural objects that play with scale, perspective, and optical illusion. The vessel remains a recurring starting point, gradually transforming from a functional object into an expressive sculptural form.

Her works are characterized by strong colours, geometric and organic forms, and a playful approach to ceramics, drawing on both modernist and postmodern visual language. Von Krogh has exhibited extensively in Norway and internationally, and her works are represented in collections including the National Museum, KODE, and Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum.

She studied at the National College of Art and Design in Oslo, graduating in ceramics in 1971.
