PLEUN VAN DIJK (b.1992)
Van Dijk is a Dutch speculative artist and designer whose practice explores the evolving relationship between humans, technology, science, and the natural world. Through sculpture, installation, and speculative scenarios, she translates complex scientific and technological developments into tangible forms that invite audiences to imagine possible futures.
Rather than providing answers, her work raises ethical and societal questions about how technology may transform our bodies, identities, and ways of living.
Van Dijk’s projects often combine research, emerging technologies, and material experimentation to explore possible utopian and dystopian futures.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Design Museum Den Bosch, Ars Electronica, Dutch Design Week, Stockholm Design Week, and Kunstnerforbundet in Oslo.
Alongside her artistic practice, she has worked with material research and curation, including as co-creator and former curator of the Future Materials Bank at the Jan van Eyck Academie.
She holds a Master’s degree in Material Futures from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, and a Bachelor’s degree from Design Academy Eindhoven.
